Satgear Compass to assist with Dish Alignment
Classic map-reading or orienteering style liquid filled compass, ideal to use for aligning satellite dish to known bearing. (Bearings can be obtained from www.dishpointer.com) This compass is made from clear plastic, and has an easy-read dial, in increments of 2 degrees. This is a low cost alternative to the major brand name compasses - but it is every bit as effective for finding satellites!

To use this for satellite alignment, get the correct bearing for the satellite (adjusted for your location), then aim the dish in the indicated direction. Ideally you will then use a Satgear Satfinder meter (ref no SA47) to make fine adjustments to the elevation and bearing to get the strongest possible signal. See the Satgear Instructions on satellite alignment for full details.
